Carrera GT

The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is a mid-engined sports car that was manufactured by Porsche in Leipzig[3], Germany.

The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7 litre V10 engineproducing 612 DIN (605 SAE) horsepower (450 kW),[5]whereas the original concept car featured a 5.5 litre version rated at 558 hp (416 kW). Porsche claims it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 330 km/h (205 mph)[3], although road tests indicated that in reality the car can accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds[5] and 0-100 mph (160 km/h) in 6.8[5]seconds, while 0-125 mph (201 km/h) in 9.9 seconds[citation needed].

The Carrera GT has a basic five colour paint scheme which includes Guards Red, Fayence Yellow, Basalt Black, GT Silver and Seal Grey.

Custom colours were also available from the factory. A traditional six-speed manual transmission is the only available transmission.

Attached to this gearbox is a beechwood gearknob which pays homage to the wooden gearknob used in the Porsche 917 Le Mans racers. In its second year of production, a limited edition carbon fibre knob was also made available.

Mushtang

The Mustang SVO was a limited-production version of the Ford Mustang sold from 1984 to 1986, during which time it was the fastest, most expensive version of the Mustang available.

Although it departed both physically and mechanically from any prior version of the Mustang, it held the same spot within the lineup, both in terms of performance over "lesser" variants and in prestige, as had variants such as the Shelby tuned and "BOSS" Mustangs of the 1960s and 70s.

Still ultimately concerned with issues such as fuel consumption and emissions, SVO engineers opted to pass over the venerable Boss 302 in lieu of an updated, turbocharged, and stronger version of Ford's 2.3 liter inline four, originally used in the Pinto.

Endowing the engine with an advanced, computer controlled fuel injection system and an intercooled turbocharger system helped push power output to 175 horsepower, fairly high for the time. With fine tuning and the addition of a new water-cooling system, power output rose to 200 horsepower (149 kW) for 1986 (205 horsepower (153 kW) for 439 85.5 SVOs) In addition, a "fuel grade" switch was added to the dash, allowing the driver to adjust the vehicle's performance level depending on if premium or standard grade fuel was being used.

New Mercedes Benz F 700

Frankfurt Auto Show is a very important car event of the year. It draws millions of visitors and can be named a performance of the year. Each manufacturer is thoroughly preparing to the following show and chooses which car to expose. Mercedes cars are one of the best cars. They are a perfect combination of quality, reliability, ideal look and price. They are not as expensive and authoritative as Ferraris are, but, nevertheless, they are still worth paying our attention to.

Mercedes Benz F700, Frankfurt

This year Mercedes will be presented with a new model Mercedes-Benz F 700. Only 2 words can be used to describe it: dazzling and dizzying. It is a prototype of a future S-class Sedan. As to main characteristics and peculiarities of this car:

  • it embodies low consumption and friendliness to the surroundings;
  • 4-cylinder car; gets a V-6 power experimental engine, that unites turbo charging and diesel compression. This engine is much spoken about, because it is a hybrid of Diesotto (combination of two words diesel and surname of the inventor Otto) and standard Mercedes engine. The emissions from such engine will be minimal;
  • has a gas engine;
  • 1.8 l engine;
  • can speed up to 60 mph only in 7.5 seconds;
  • top speed is nearly 120 mph;
  • consumes 5.3 L pf fuel per 100 km;
  • presents a new engine producing technology Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI);

Mercedes Benz F700

As to the price, it is currently unknown, but we perfectly know, that cars with a diesel engine are more expensive, that those with standard engines. But Mercedes F 700 and its brand-new engine can be a perfect alternative to the existing ones.

No doubts, the car looks very glamorous, stylish and fashionable. It will be an adornment of the roads!

Hummer 3

The Hummer H3 SUV is a vehicle for the Hummer division of General Motors in 2006 and based on the GMT355 Chevrolet Colorado GMC Canyon compact.

2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG
GM currently produces in Shreveport, Louisiana, plant in Port Elizabeth in South Africa, the H3 is the smallest of the Hummer models, and the first to be built by GM. E ‘is available in a traditional SUV or a pickup truck called AVerage.

The Hummer H3 was a vehicle from General Motors' Hummer division introduced in 2005 based on the GMT355 underpinning the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact pickup trucks.Produced at GM's Shreveport, Louisiana factory and the Port Elizabeth plant in South Africa the H3 was the smallest of the Hummer models, and the first to be built by GM. It was available either as a traditional midsize SUV or as a midsize pickup known as the H3T.

The H3 features a two-speed, electronically controlled full-time four-wheel drive system that is suitable for both on-road and off-road driving in all conditions, with electronic locking front and rear differentials optionally available. Like its larger sibling the Hummer H2, the H3 can ford 24 inches (610 mm) of water (tested in depths up to 31 in/790 mm) at a speed of 5 miles per hour (8.0 km/h) and 16 inches (410 mm) of water at a speed of 20 miles per hour (32 km/h).

Standard ground clearance is measured at 9.7 inches (250 mm) while the approach, departure, and breakover angles are measured at 37.4°, 34.7°, and 22.1° respectively, allowing the H3 to scale a 16-inch (410 mm) vertical wall and negotiate grades of 60% and side slopes of 40%. Though fore and aft recovery hooks are standard, a trailer hitch and wiring harness are optional.

Maximum towing capacities are 3,000 pounds (1,400 kg) for the straight-5 with manual transmission, 4,500 pounds (2,000 kg) for the straight-5 with automatic transmission, and 6,000 pounds (2,700 kg) for the V8 with automatic transmission.

Cargo volume with the second-row seats in the upright position is 25.0 cubic feet (0.71 m3), which expands to a maximum of 62.8 cubic feet (1.78 m3) when the seats are folded down. V8 models feature the lightest maximum payload capacity of just over 1,100 pounds (500 kg) while straight-5, manual transmission models allow the greatest payload at 1,300 pounds (590 kg).

Hummer 2

Hummer 2

The Hummer H2 is an SUV and SUT sold by General Motors under the Hummer brand.[3]It is a large truck (lighter and slightly slimmer than the Hummer H1), while slightly longer and slightly taller) with room for six passengers (including driver). The rearmost part of the H2 SUV was modified to a pickup truck bed for the 2005 H2 SUT ("Sport Utility Truck")

The H2 is built under contract by AM General at a specially constructed plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA. GM's GMT820 truck shares platforms with the Chevrolet Tahoeand GMC Yukon, those vehicles differ in many ways and are constructed in three other GM plants. The H2's final frame assembly is made up of 3 sections: The front uses a modified GM 2500-Series utility frame, the mid-section is all new and is completely boxed, and the rear section uses a modified GM 1500-Series frame which is upgraded for the 8,600 pounds (3,900 kg) gross vehicle weight.

The H2 was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2003. Hummer launched a special 2009 Black Chrome Limited Edition version of the truck. H2 production at the Mishawaka plant was suspended in January 2009.[4]

n January 2009, a study by ISO Quality Planning revealed the H2 and H3 Hummers to be the most ticketed vehicles in the United States.[5]

Both the H2 SUV and SUT are being discontinued after the 2010 model year as GM is winding down the entire Hummer brand. Unlike the other full-size GM trucks and SUVs, the H2 remained on the GMT800 platform after 2007, but was given an interior facelift similar to the likings of the new-for-2007 GMT900 SUVs.

Under the United States income tax code, the cost of vehicles over 6,000 pounds (2,700 kg) can be deducted from specific forms of income. This deduction was enacted decades ago to assist self-employed people in purchasing a vehicle for business use.

The weight minimum was intended to limit the deduction to commercial-type trucks. For many years, the deduction remained below the average cost of a new vehicle, since large trucks were relatively inexpensive. Since it is a reduction in taxable income, the actual value of this deduction averages 30% of the price of the vehicle in question.

Standard features include air conditioning w/tri-zone climate controls, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, 8-way power front seats, memory system, premium sound system, 6-disc CD changer, outside-temperature indicator, compass, and rear radio controls.

GM to HUMMER: “Look, Let’s Not Cause A Scene…”

With gas at $4 dollars a gallon and truck-production powerhouses like Ford on their knees in front of the formerly-ridiculed compact car market, GM appears to be quietly preparing for HUMMER to rumble off this mortal coil.

According to several HUMMER dealers, GM is making their rounds individually, discretely softening the blow on each dealership with rich, personalized incentive packages. According to stats, HUMMER sales fell 59.3% in June, and the profit-loss figures are even more abysmal. [It is here that I am sorely tempted to quote Elton John's "Candle In The Wind]

Although originally developed for [and still used by] the US Military, the HUMMER was reconfigured in the early 90’s for civilian use. Shortly thereafter, HUMMER’s became synonymous line with a wasteful, flashy lifestyle [here’s to you, hip-hop industry]. Perfectly summarizing the stereotype, Sierra Club’s Josh Donner, from his parents’ basement in between bong hits, said, “The HUMMER embodied the worst impulses of the American auto industry.”

Mum’s the word from GM, but with an economy in crisis and large model vehicles everywhere on the chopping block, HUMMER’s civilian days seem to be numbered. Not a loss deemed worthy of mourning for some – the author would like to note that she is genuinely saddened by this apparently inevitable loss. Also, I would like credit for resisting the urge to quote Elton John’s “Candle In The Wind” – I was very, very tempted.
